Corporate Traveller is officially a ‘Great Place to Work’ and Centre of ‘Excellence in Wellbeing’
14th October 2019
Corporate Traveller’s parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group, has been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for the ninth year running.
Climbing six places from last year, Flight Centre has been awarded an exceptional 12th place by the Great Place to Work® Institute. This is the company’s highest ranking since 2013.
In addition, Corporate Traveller was recognised as a centre of ‘Excellence in Wellbeing’. This was as a result of employee feedback on work environment, mental and physical health, financial security, interpersonal relationships, work-life balance and fulfillment at work.
The Great Place to Work Institute UK is part of the world’s largest consultancy specialising in workplace assessment and optimisation. This means it has unrivalled insight into what makes an organisation’s employees tick and how leaders can improve their business performance by understanding and improving their workplace culture.
This year, over 8,000 companies competed for the opportunity to be named as one of the UK’s great places to work. Flight Centre was recognised in the large organisation category (companies with 500+ employees) and is the only travel management company to make the 2019 list.
Flight Centre was rigorously assessed in terms of the company’s values and ethics; communication and involvement; teamwork; recognition; and empowerment and accountability. This process involved an extensive Trust Index© Survey among employees which is designed to measure staff perception of the quality of their workplace relationships with management, with their jobs and with other employees. Flight Centre’s results were outstanding in every category, with survey scores soaring far above the UK average.
Andy Hegley, General Manager for Corporate Traveller, said: “We’ve always tried to foster an enjoyable and supportive environment within the company - so to be recognised for providing our employees with a ‘Great Place to Work’ shows we are successfully catering for our staff’s needs.”
“As part of FCTG, employees know that they’ll get the chance to work in a fun environment which offers them the opportunity to build a strong career within a global company,” he added.
“Internally, all of our colleagues have access to a wide range of initiatives to support their wellbeing - whether it’s taking an hour out of your day for exercise or physical therapy, or taking advantage of corporate gym members,” said Hegley. “And this week, to support Mental Health Awareness Week we’re offering seminars on reducing stress and giving staff access to mindfulness apps, such as Headspace.”
