Flight Centre UK Partner Charities
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan has been providing cancer patients with medical, emotional, and financial support for over 100 years now. As part of its mission to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer, Macmillan has created a vast online community where people can share their stories and connect with experts. Macmillan is doing whatever it takes to ensure people with cancer get the support they need to live fully.
Flight Centre has partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support to raise funds for £350 Macmillan Grants, which go directly to people with cancer.
The Trussell Trust
The Trussell Trust is a charity that works to end the need for food banks in the United Kingdom. It supports a network of over 1,200 food bank centres to provide emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for long-term change to the structural issues that lock people into poverty.
Over our partnership with The Trussell Trust we hope to raise £50,000 which will go towards
- Helping food banks continue to provide emergency food to people in financial hardship
- Provide wraparound support such as mental health referrals, welfare and debt advice, so people are less likely to need a food bank again.
- Develop research into the scare and drivers of hunger. This is used to engage the public and policy makers to push for long-term change.
Flight Centre Foundation
At the heart of Corporate Traveller’s corporate and social responsibility strategy lies our charity, the Flight Centre Foundation, which sponsors a primary school in Soweto, South Africa. Over our five-year partnership, we’re determined to transform the school and the lives of its pupils. Through workplace giving and fundraising activities, Corporate Traveller’s employees can support the school, as well as our charity of the year, with all staff fundraising efforts and donations matched pound-for-pound by Flight Centre Travel Group.
Responsible, greener travel
There’s no excuses now. We’re all thinking more about our people and our planet. Together we can travel in a way that respects human rights, the environment and social equality while being conscious of eco-friendly practices and working with local communities.
Environment
Initiatives we’ve implemented include:
- Carbon offsetting for staff travel through a partnership with South Pole.
- Using renewable energy sources in our offices.
- Zero waste to landfill through recycling bins and waste converted to generate electricity.
Modern slavery and human trafficking
We remain committed to responsible and sustainable travel and tourism, including the identification and prevention of all forms of modern slavery in our business and supply chains. Our people have a shared commitment to maintain the highest standards of personal and professional ethics, to comply with all relevant laws and regulations and to personify and represent Flight Centre's values in everything we do. For more information see our policy.
Supporting our forces
Corporate Traveller UK is proud to be a signatory to The Armed Forces Covenant, showing our promise to ensure those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
